International Online Casinos Players Compete

The lucky 32 players attending the Poker Stars World Cup of Poker semi-finals in Barcelona have been decided and the eight teams of four players each represent players form all over the globe. PokerStars.com is a top online casino poker site that is well known for a great tournament schedule – and the land-based World Cup has certainly attracted thousands of players toping for a trip to Barcelona and a chance at the $250,000 prize pool.

Online casinos poker players flooded the PokerStars site – to the tune of 75,000 players, and over the past weeks that has been whittled down to the eight winning teams. The competition started with 49 registered poker teams after the initial qualifiers. Then came the real crunch time where the online casino poker players spent 13 hours in play and then a heated two-team playoff that finally concluded with the eight teams that will compete in the semi-finals. These eight teams represent a broad section of the internet poker gamblers and are a truly international group: USA National Team 1; Canada Province Team 1 (Newfoundland); Bayern – Province Team 3 from Germany; Team Ireland; Team Iceland; Team Portugal; Team Hungary and Team Mexico.

The Barcelona event takes place the first weekend in September, the 4th – 7th specifically and will start with the semi-finals. At the end of the semi-finals Poker Stars World Cup of Poker, only four of the online casinos poker teams will remain and go onto the compete in the a tag-team tournament. This final, four-handed event will end with one team crowned as the World Cup of Poker IV Champions.
