Increases in Mobile Gambling
Even without specifics and statistics, many in the online casino gambling
industry are turning to the mobile gambling market as the next lucrative sector
of the gaming industry. Mobile gambling is relatively new – like within the past
year new. Only in the past year has this medium just exploded with new online
casino mobile gambling and betting content as well as companies specifically
created to facilitate the adoption of mobile gambling services in new markets.
Juniper Research, a leading research organization, announced predictions
specifically for the mobile online casinos gambling and betting markets. The
industry is expected to increase exponentially over the next five years – to the
tune of $5 billion in wagers at the mobile online casinos. Because mobile
gambling is relatively new, this sector of the online casino gambling industry
is still in a limited number of markets and is not even remotely saturated in
terms of mobile content and mobile gambling targeted sites and companies.
Mobile gambling is also experiencing a growth in multiple forms of mobile gaming
content – single user (like the online casino slot machine games) or
multi-player games (like tournament poker games). The author of the report, Dr
Windsor Holden, notes that “many online casinos are now moving into the mobile
environment,” meaning that the market is only just beginning to see really
mobile targeted content. And in that same regard, “bookmakers such as Ladbrokes
and Coral have partnered with leading applications providers to launch own brand
mobile casinos.”
The growth into new markets is the primary reason that the mobile online casino
gambling industry will see such growth in the coming years. The UK market
currently accounts for 60 percent of the mobile gambling market. The Juniper
Research report indicates that by 2012 the UK will be a mere 20 percent of a
much larger and more globally encompassing mobile gambling industry.
